Some proven accessories for the pups.

abbidot_1
I’ve tested a number of different training collars over the last couple of years and the ABBIDOT brand has been the best by far for the price. There have been different versions but I find this one to be the easiest to use as it fits nicely into a pocket. One thing that should be mentioned is that the “shock” option can be turned off so that a hooman cannot by accident zap a pup which as far as I’m concerned is something that should only ever be done in order to save a pups life, such as when a pup is about to run into traffic. Unfortunately, local shops don’t carry the brand.
Battery life on both the controller and collar can last more than a week of being on 24/7. It all depends on how much it is actually used.

lightup_collar
A few people have asked about the light-up collars my pups are wearing. These can be found on Amazon. I haven’t seen them in the local pet shops. I would prefer the local outlets handle them, but many of these inexpensive accessories aren’t sold in brick-and-mortar stores.
These are available in two colours as per the page. I found that after measuring the pups’ necks and ordering as per the seller’s information that they fit correctly.

booties
Waterproof Dog Boots with Reflective Strips And Anti-Slip Sole. These have been in play for a couple of winters and are holding up well. The two-strap design makes it easy to keep them snug. One strap can be tightened to keep them on, while the other can be snugged up without putting too much pressure on the dew claw. The reflective strip sure helps in the winter when the pups run around under the trees.
