Because of our close proximity to the Mill Creek Ravine, skunks are a real concern, especially in spring when skunks are out and about again and then throughout the summer. This means your pup may get sprayed. One of the better ways to get the smell off is to use a homemade concoction described in the video. Many people we meet on the green belt have used this and stated that it is very effective.
Summer is when we need to think about keeping our pups safe from nature – ticks and fleas.
Parasites are a real threat based on being so close to the ravine where there are many wild animals.
Besides ticks and fleas, our furball buddies can also be victims of various parasites. This Mother Earth News has a great article that provides some good information on how to recognize when pets have fleas, ticks, and various parasites and how to deal with them.
